FEATURED CLASSROOM: No. 1
Ms. Knight and Ms. Caputo
The year is winding down and we have explored a variety of
topics. The children express an interest in a topic and the
teachers design a unit of study. We observe and discuss ideas
all year long.
The class loved learning about outerspace. We bounced around
on moon shoes, crawled into a star box looking at constellations
and ate freeze dried ice cream. The children learned an... [More]

Classroom 2 has been busy learning about all kinds of
transportation. We have taken neighborhood walks to look at the
many different kinds of vehicles that travel our streets. The
children were really excited one day when workers were fixing the
street right outside the school and all manner of trucks were
parked there. They even got to see a digger and dump truck in
action. In cen... [More]

Classroom three has been exploring air/wind and related topics
such as airplanes, wind streamers, kites and clouds. We used
our five senses to detect the presence of air and investigate the
physical properties of air/wind. We carried out experiments
designed to discover how different shapes fly or fall in the air,
how air can be moved, and how moving air can be used to propel
object... [More]

Classroom 4 has been busy this spring! In March, we began
learning about Ireland. We spent a few weeks reading Irish

activities involving the color green, including a tasting of some
green foods. After the tasting, we graphed our favorite foods.
We played some... [More]

The school year is going by so quickly. It is hard to believe
that soon we
will be having our moving up ceremony. The children in room 10
have become
good friends not only in our classroom but also with children in
other
rooms. We have watched the children go from learning to
recognize their
name, to reading other children's names and on favorit... [More]
FEATURED CLASSROOM: No. 13
Ms. Cassale and Ms. Caccavale
Spring has sprung in classroom 13! We are loving the warmer
weather, seeing Mr. Sun, and hearing the sounds of nature. A big
welcome to this new season was in order, so we used our visual-
spatial and fine motor skills to create a life size interactive
poster using Braille ( a language that helps us communicate with
those who can not see ) to say " Welcome Spring!" In class we
have b... [More]

Where has the time gone? It's hard to believe that our little
ones will be leaving us very soon. We have enjoyed seeing how
much each child has grown. So far, the year has been a great
deal of fun and very productive. A great combination!
We have just completed a unit on land transportation. During
this unit the children visited our neighboring parking garage,
observed and then t... [More]
